Otterly Wishful Thinking (TFTG Mini)

Jake sighed as he stared into the bright blue waters of the City Zoo's otter exhibit and watched the joyful inhabitants playing with one another, enjoying their carefree lives within the safety of their tiny sanctuary. The free spirited little fellas seemed to not have a care in the world, content to go about their days just idly pursuing whatever fun activity crossed their minds, all while never being apart from loving friends and mates. What charmed lives these little guys must lead... No work, no deadlines, no pressures, no need to worry about finding a girlfriend or any of the other million worries and stresses that humans had to deal with!
Jake noticed one of the otters swim past the glass near him, then stop, turning to look in his direction with a curious expression on its face. He smiled a little as the otter spun around and swam a bit closer, pressing its tiny paws to the barrier between them.
"What's the matter little guy?" Jake asked, pressing one of his own hands to the place where the otters paws were. "You want to come out or something? Trust me, I wish I was in their with you! You don't want any of what's out here!"
The otter’s face suddenly broke into a mischievous smile and before Jake could do anything he felt a sharp shock in his hand. He cursed and jumped back from the glass, but already something had begun to feel extremely wrong. His whole body was suddenly burning up as if he were suffering from a high fever all while his fingers had begun to stiffen and grow cold. He tried to walk away from the tank, thinking he had somehow contracted some fast acting cold or flu, but before he had made it more than a few steps he began to stumble. His pants, normally snugly fit to his hips, had become baggy and felt all together to long so that his feet could hardly lift from the ground without dragging at least one of his pant legs under him. Worse his shirt had begun to bunch up around his neck, pulling higher and higher over his head until he had to pull it off just to see what was happening to him!
Around him Jake began to hear people muttering and whispering, but he was distracted by a new feeling his groin that drove all other concerns from his mind. He threw aside his shirt and gasped at the sight of thick tan fur coating his body, but even that shocking revelation could not keep him long from the strange sucking feeling growing between his legs! With trembling, claw like fingers Jake unbuttoned his pants and let them fall to the ground, revealing yet more fur, a thick tail and… A smooth patch of hair were his manly pride and joy SHOULD have been!
Jake screamed, voice growing high and shrill as ‘he’ began to panic! What was going on? How had this happened? How could it be stopped!? ‘He’ needed answers and help, but had no idea even where to start!
Suddenly Jake felt something smooth and hard slip around her neck and before she could do more then look down to recognize it as an animal capture leash it had been secured tightly around her neck!
“No need for alarm!” The zoo keeper called to the crowd as he lifted Jake off the ground. “These little guys are harmless. Just like to sneak out sometimes.” He paused as he glanced at Jake. “Wait a minute… A female? I didn’t think we were getting in any females till next year… I guess they changed their mind about the breeding program after all.”
Jake blushed and tried to say something, but her voice was cut off by the leash and besides, even if she could speak no human would be able to understand her now. Still… She had been MOSTLY right about life in the zoo as an otter, for the all male population it had been very nearly a paradise, what with the free food, warm water, safety from predators and good company and now with Jake joining them, they would even have a mate to make things truly perfect!
